MURMINI went in to the my favorite dealership today MINI of Charleston for a little tlc. I'd been having some issues with the vacuum-operated flap in the cold air intake not opening above 4500 rpm, as it is supposed to.

The MINI Takes The States cross country rally continues on with Day 3. Today its 255 MINI miles from Las Vegas Nevada via Kingman, Arizona and on to Flagstaff, Arizona for the night.

MINI USA's official website for the MINI Takes The States road trip has been updated this morning and incorporates some fun stuff including a selection of road games and tools for your trip - (the noises necessary for you to convince the people you work with that you need two weeks off sick!). The site will be posting daily updates begining on 8/23/06

MTTS - Commences - Day 1

After all the weekend activities the surrounding the delivery of the MINI GPs to their owners, they are preparing to commence the MINI Takes The States event. Friday saw the delivery of their cars, then laps at the Laguna-Seca Speedway and among other wonderful activities, they attended the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance.

MC2 Magazine and MTTS Event

In coordination with the Monterey to Lime Rock MTTS Mini Takes the States tour coming up in 2006, MC2Magazine has announced that they will be attending the tour in it's entirety and the have committed a minimum of 16 pages to be devoted to the story in issue #5.

MTTS Registration Pack Arrives

My MINI Takes The States registration pack arrived today. It contains two MTTS red arm bands for access to events, a trip decal a MINI Welcome Note, a MTTS Travelogue, 100 miles a day keeps the doctor away MINI Quarantine Kit, a MINI motoring gear catalogue and the MINI official “Everything but the Kitchen Sink’ checklist and some additional info. Ian Cull did a great job of capturing it all in a photo here.

MINI TAKES THE STATES

With the MINI TAKES THE STATES event running August 21st – September 4th 2006, its count-down time. As of close of registration on July 24th, the event had 175 people registered to attend the whole coast-to-coast event as well as many hundreds joining in each section. Ian Cull, of auto-up-window fame, at GPMINI has done a nice job of presenting the attendee numbers here.
