      <description>&lt;p&gt;I guess it&amp;#8217;s part of the it&amp;#8217;s English heritage but if you park your &lt;span class="caps"&gt;MINI&lt;/span&gt;, shut off the lights and the ignition as you leave the car, flip the traffic signal switch to the left or right and it will illuminate the front and rear side lamps on the selected side only. Why you might ask? Well in England (and other European countries), it is a legal requirement for a stationary vehicle to display front/rear position lamps on the offside of the vehicle, when the vehicle it is parked in an area governed by a speed limit of more than 30mph. I have noted that all of the BMWs exported to the &lt;span class="caps"&gt;USA&lt;/span&gt; do this as well. It&amp;#8217;s the Law!&lt;/p&gt;</description>
